Home > Services > Emotional or Physical Abandonment
Our parents play a significant role in early childhood helping us to understand our feelings, be comfortable in our bodies, and get to know ourselves in the world. When they aren't able to be fully present for us, our ability to feel our feelings and talk about them may be compromised. We also may struggle with forming a clear identity. Therapy can help us to connect with our emotions, put words to them. It can also help us to become comfortable with who we are and find a place in the world that finally feels "right."
Free Consultation
Fill out the contact form and use our online calendar to schedule a complimentary consultation, either through video, phone or in person. During this time, I’d like to hear about your needs and answer any questions. If the fit doesn’t feel right, I’ll do my best to refer you to a clinician in my network.
Start Therapy
We can often schedule your first session within a week after the initial consult, either in-person or through telehealth.
Check In
We’ll chat during the third session to assess how things are going and adjust our approach if needed.
Start Living
Most people begin to feel better soon after starting therapy, and results continue to grow with treatment.

What happens during the first appointment?
When we first meet, the most important thing for us to do is to learn what you're looking for help with. I may ask you some questions about your life and your background to help us both understand what may be causing some of the challenges that you're facing. We'll also talk about how we will work together, and what you can expect in therapy. I'll answer any questions you have. While we won't have a "fix" for your problem in one session, people often feel a sense of comfort and confidence knowing that they have begun the process and have a professional to work with.
Where do we meet?
We can meet in my office at 33 Plymouth Street in Montclair, or I also offer telehealth sessions through a HIPAA-compliant platform.
How much does therapy cost?
My standard session fee is $175, though sliding scale may be available by application.
Do you take insurance?
My practice is Out of Network with insurance companies. I partner with a company who will verify your out of network benefits, file claims and allows you to pay only your copay for each session (after meeting your deductible) which could save you up to 70% of my total fee.
Are you accepting new patients?
I am accepting new patients at this time. Please reach out for a free consultation so that we can see whether we'd be a good fit.
